At night she walks among the earth,
descending from on high.
Lady of the Midnight Moon,
Princess of the sky.

Soft as snow her footfalls,
neat and blessed with grace.
Hair as black as darkness,
pain upon her face.

She never sees the daylight,
She lives her life in night.
Poor, sweet gentle lady,
Persevere! Keep up your fight!

Until your wings of starbeams
will not melt when in the sun,
you must not cry your sorrow:
your fate is sealed and done.

Lady of the Moon and Dark,
Mistress of the Grey,
Hold your head up through the Eve,
you may yet see the day.

"It is always darkest just before the sun comes up."

The picture is by enayla and it is one of my favorite works of art EVER. I didn't know it was hers originally, and took it off a google site. Now I am trying to give her proper credit, and hopefully that will be enough. This is merely a cropped version. Hers is titled "Nightly Forests".
